Lewandowski is gone. Ferran Torres has left for PSG. Hansi Flick is staring at a squad without a single natural No. 9, and Barcelona have locked their sights on one man: Alvarez, 26, the striker they see as the answer up front.
Atletico, though, have slammed the door shut. No talks. No negotiations. No price.
On paper, that sounds decisive. In reality, the pressure is beginning to twist the situation inside the Metropolitano.

So the window ticks on. Atletico stand firm. Alvarez waits. Barcelona search.
At some point in the final weeks of the market, either Atletico soften their stance and listen to offers, or they commit fully to keeping a striker who wanted to leave and ask him to carry their attack.
One way or another, someone is going to have to live with the consequences.
