Barcelona Set Clear Demands as Dortmund Leads Héctor Fort Race

What started as a simple exit route for Héctor Fort has turned into a small summer saga.

Barcelona are pushing ahead with plans to move the young full-back on, and for days Borussia Dortmund looked to have a clear path to his signature. Talks advanced, the framework of a deal was sketched out, and the Bundesliga side positioned themselves as the obvious destination.

Then Real Sociedad walked into the room.

Dortmund still in front, but not alone

According to the latest from Matteo Moretto (via FCB World), Dortmund remain in pole position to reach an agreement with Barcelona. They have done the groundwork and still lead the race.

Real Sociedad’s late arrival has changed the mood around the operation, though. The Basque club have been gathering detailed information on the conditions of Fort’s departure and are now seen as a serious contender rather than a passing enquiry. What looked like a one-club negotiation is now a genuine contest.

Barcelona lay down the price

The key shift is Barcelona’s stance. The club have moved from a vague valuation to a very clear, two-track set of demands.

Moretto reports that Barça want €20 million for 100% of Fort’s rights. A clean, outright sale.

There is another door open. Barcelona are also prepared to accept an offer in the region of €8–10 million in exchange for 50% of the player’s rights, keeping half of any future upside on a defender they still rate highly.

Earlier indications had suggested a simple €10 million valuation. The latest update sharpens that into a defined structure: either a full €20 million sale or a shared-rights formula at roughly half that fee.

Decision time for suitors

The equation is now brutally simple. Any club willing to meet one of those two conditions can move to close the deal for Héctor Fort.

Dortmund remain best placed and have the head start. Real Sociedad have added pressure and complexity. Barcelona, for their part, have put their cards on the table.
