Aston Villa Sign PSG Starlet Mbaye for €55m
Aston Villa have struck a major blow in the transfer market, winning the race to sign highly rated winger Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain after agreeing to meet the French champions’ €55m valuation.
The move, reported by The Athletic, is now being tied up, with the paperwork understood to be in progress as Villa close in on one of Europe’s most coveted teenagers.
Sawiris–Al-Khelaifi link helps unlock deal
This was not just about money. The relationship between Villa chairman Nassef Sawiris and PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi played a key role in pushing the transfer over the line, smoothing negotiations for a player many clubs had circled.
