Arsenal Pursue Ezri Konsa as Defensive Target
Arsenal are ramping up their pursuit of Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa as they look to land their top defensive target.
The Premier League champions have made the England international their preferred option at the back and, according to multiple sources, there is growing optimism that a deal to bring him to Emirates Stadium can be struck.
Villa, though, are standing firm. Their valuation remains at around £60m, a figure Arsenal have yet to match despite renewed talks between the clubs. Those discussions, reopened last week and revealed by BBC Sport, still ended short of an agreement.
That impasse briefly nudged Arsenal towards an alternative. The Gunners appeared to pivot to Bayer Leverkusen’s Jarrell Quansah after failing to find a breakthrough with Villa.
Even so, Konsa remains the priority. Arsenal know the price. Villa know his importance. The next move, and the next bid, will decide how serious this chase really is.
