Arsenal's Bold Move: Osimhen for Martinelli Swap

Arsenal’s search for a centre-forward has taken a wild turn. Galatasaray’s interest in Gabriel Martinelli was the headline on Thursday. Within a day, the story twisted into something far bigger.

The London club have, reportedly, been offered the chance to bring Victor Osimhen to the Emirates in a swap involving Martinelli. A straight choice: an electric wide forward for a ruthless No 9. For a team crying out for a penalty-box predator, that is the kind of proposal that makes executives sit up.

There is more. Ethan Nwaneri, one of the brightest talents in Arsenal’s academy, has also been mentioned as a potential makeweight to turn the whole thing into a mega deal. It is the sort of move that would reshape a squad and ignite a fanbase – or divide it.

Reijnders in demand as Maresca reshapes City

Tijjani Reijnders faces a different kind of uncertainty. Fitting into Enzo Maresca’s Manchester City puzzle will not be straightforward, and clubs across Europe can smell an opportunity.

Nottingham Forest have already been linked with the Dutch midfielder. That interest has lit a spark in Saudi Arabia, where Al Qadsiah, coached by Brendan Rodgers, are ready to test City’s resolve. The club are willing to put £51m on the table for Reijnders, a serious sum for a player still trying to nail down his ideal role in a new system.

Newcastle armed with cash and a midfield problem

Newcastle, meanwhile, are shopping with a bulging wallet and a glaring hole in midfield. Losing Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimarães to Spurs and Arsenal has ripped out the core of Eddie Howe’s engine room.

They did, at least, bank around £175m for the pair. That money now points them towards Brighton’s Carlos Baleba, a powerful, progressive midfielder who fits the profile of their rebuild. On the right side of defence, Rafik Belghali is another name on the list. St James’ Park could be his next stop if Newcastle are prepared to pay £12m for the right-back.

Leeds close in on Elvedi reunion

In the Championship, Leeds are pushing to add experience and familiarity at the back. Nico Elvedi is the target, and the deal looks ripe.

The Switzerland international worked under Daniel Farke at Borussia Mönchengladbach and wants out, with only a year left on his contract. All signs point towards Elland Road. At 29, Elvedi would arrive as a ready-made leader for a club desperate to fight their way back to the Premier League.

Forest find their third-choice keeper

Not every transfer window twist comes with fireworks. Nottingham Forest are closing in on the most low-key of signings: a third-choice goalkeeper.

Steven Benda, formerly of Swansea, is set to arrive on a free. It is the kind of move that barely ripples the wider market but matters inside a dressing room. Depth, training-ground competition, a safety net if injuries strike. No open-top bus parades, but a sensible piece of squad building.

Palace build depth, circle Tiago Gabriel

Crystal Palace are quietly thickening their squad. Anan Khalaili is on his way from Union Saint-Gilloise to push Daniel Muñoz at right-back, adding energy and competition down that flank.
