Alex Mowatt Joins Derby County from West Bromwich Albion

Derby County have landed midfielder Alex Mowatt from West Bromwich Albion on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 31-year-old arrives at Pride Park just two days after West Brom rejected Derby’s initial approach, with the Rams returning quickly to get the move over the line.

Mowatt, who had 12 months left on his contract at The Hawthorns, ends a spell with the Baggies that began in the summer of 2021. The former Leeds United and Barnsley midfielder made 170 appearances for West Brom, the last of them coming in their Carabao Cup first-round win over Rotherham last week.

Now he swaps stripes for spots, and the Championship battle he’s been part of for years continues in Derby colours.
