Richmond Park witnessed a comeback to live long in the memory as teenage substitute Sam Rooney struck in extra-time to dump holders Shamrock Rovers out of the Club Orange FAI Cup.
St Patrick's Athletic were 2-0 down at half-time and staring at the exit. They walked off at the end as 3-2 winners and giant-killers.
Rovers in control, scoreboard against the run
The first 45 minutes belonged to Shamrock Rovers on the scoreboard, if not in territory or chances.
Jonathan Afolabi put the Hoops in front, and when Michael Noonan added a second, Stephen Bradley's side looked to have the tie exactly where they wanted it. St Pat's had carved out the bulk of the opportunities, but Rovers were ruthless. Two big chances, two goals, and the cup holders looked comfortable.
Richmond Park stayed restless rather than resigned. The home side kept pushing.
Turner sparks the fightback
The pressure finally told.
