Rafael Leao Responds to Claims of Being a Negative Influence at Milan

Rafael Leao has publicly dismissed a report suggesting new Milan coach Ruben Amorim considers him a “negative influence” in the dressing room, calling the claim a lie.

The Portugal forward, usually a quiet presence on X, broke his routine after seeing a post repeating what La Gazzetta dello Sport had reported about his role inside the Milan squad. The article claimed Amorim was worried about Leao’s impact on the atmosphere within the group.

Leao did not let it slide. “You are lying,” he wrote in response, before following up with: “Maybe because you are lying,” and adding three laughing-face emojis for emphasis. Rare words, but pointed.

The 25-year-old is absent from today’s friendly against Manchester United, but that absence is down to a minor injury, not any disciplinary issue or clash with the new coach.

Transfer Speculation

Away from the social media storm, Leao’s future remains a live topic at Milan. Both player and club have been open to a transfer this summer, actively looking for a solution on the market. The problem has been price, not interest.

Offers have arrived from Turkey, with Galatasaray, Besiktas and Fenerbahce all testing the waters. None of those proposals, though, came close to Milan’s original valuation: 50 million euros plus 10 million in add-ons.

That stance is softening. The Rossoneri are now prepared to lower their demands and could accept around 40 million euros.

If that figure tempts a buyer, Milan’s next move – and Leao’s – will say far more about their relationship than any post on X.
