PSG Prepares for Change Ahead of Lille Clash

Paris Saint-Germain head north on Friday night still chasing their first win of the Ligue 1 season, and Luis Enrique is ready to shake the tree.

A 2-2 draw at home to Rennes in the opening round has already put the champions under an early glare. The performance raised questions. The team sheet for Lille is expected to answer some of them.

Luis Enrique rings the changes

According to L'Équipe, the Spaniard is preparing four changes to the side that let Rennes escape Paris with a point.

In defence, Nuno Mendes is still unavailable through injury, but there will be a switch on the left. Lucas Digne is in line to come in for Lucas Hernández, offering a different profile down that flank.

On the opposite side, the surprise is bigger. Warren Zaïre-Emery is expected to start as an unorthodox right-back, taking the place of Achraf Hakimi. The teenager’s energy and ability on the ball could give PSG a very different outlet in the build-up, even if it means sacrificing a natural full-back.

New look in midfield and attack

The reshuffle continues in the middle of the pitch. Lucas Beraldo is tipped to replace Vitinha, adding fresh legs and a different balance in midfield alongside João Neves and Fabián Ruiz.

Up front, one of the headline names is set to sit this one out. Ousmane Dembélé is expected to be rested, opening the door for Ferran Torres to make his full debut. The Spaniard earned this chance the hard way, coming off the bench to score twice and salvage that draw against Rennes. Now he looks set to be trusted from the start, flanked by Désiré Doué and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Probable PSG XI vs Lille

Matvei Safonov – Warren Zaïre-Emery, Marquinhos, Willian Pacho, Lucas Digne – Lucas Beraldo, João Neves, Fabián Ruiz – Désiré Doué, Ferran Torres, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

New roles, big calls, and an away trip to Lille under the lights. For PSG, this is no gentle second step into the season; it already feels like a test of how bold Luis Enrique is willing to be.
