Paris Saint-Germain Targets Ajax Starlet Mika Godts
Paris Saint-Germain are not easing their foot off the accelerator this summer. Fresh from dropping €50 million on Norwegian forward Magnus Akliouche, the French champions have opened official talks with Ajax over highly rated Belgian winger Mika Godts.
The message from Paris is clear: the rebuild of their attacking line will not wait.
A 21-year-old coming off a statement season – 17 goals and 15 assists in 44 games across all competitions – Godts has surged onto the radar of Europe’s elite. According to Italian transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, PSG’s hierarchy have now moved beyond simple scouting. Contact with Ajax is established, and negotiations are underway.
Campos moves directly for Godts
Luis Campos, PSG’s influential sporting advisor, did not waste time in testing the water. He went straight to the player.
Talks between Campos and Godts have been described as “very fruitful”, with the Belgian making his admiration for the Paris project clear. He has given the green light to PSG’s terms and made his desire to join known, a crucial advantage for the Ligue 1 side as they sit across the table from Ajax.
When a young attacker with those numbers openly pushes for the move, leverage tends to shift quickly.
Ajax in a corner
Ajax had planned around Godts as a key piece of their immediate future. They are now staring at the other side of the transfer market’s reality: a player determined to leave, and a heavyweight suitor willing to pay.
The Dutch club wanted to keep him, but they now know he is set on the French capital. That knowledge changes everything. Instead of dictating the pace of the talks, Ajax find themselves managing damage, trying to extract maximum value while a deal edges closer.
For PSG, the timing could hardly be better. With uncertainty around the future of French winger Bradley Barcola, who has drawn serious interest from several Premier League giants, securing Godts quickly would give them fresh depth and flexibility out wide. It would also underline a clear strategy: younger, hungry, technically sharp profiles, rather than only established superstars.
Plan B after Diomande slips away
Godts is not the first winger PSG have chased in recent days. Their move comes on the back of a failed pursuit of Ivorian wide man Yan Diomande, whose name had been strongly linked with the club.
That path is now effectively closed. Diomande is expected to join Real Madrid, where the reigning Champions League holders are urgently looking to strengthen their flanks as they build yet another squad designed to compete for every trophy on offer.
So PSG pivot. One target lost, another lined up.
If they can close a deal with Ajax, they will add one of Europe’s most productive young wide forwards to an attack already reshaped by Akliouche’s arrival. The question now is not whether PSG are serious about this new sporting direction.
It is how quickly they can turn intent into signatures – and whether Godts becomes the next name to redefine their future.
