Middlesbrough Nears Signing of Ashley Phillips from Tottenham

Middlesbrough are closing in on the signing of Ashley Phillips from Tottenham in a deal that underlines both their ambition and Spurs’ ruthless summer reset.

The Championship club are set to pay an up-front £7million fee for the 21-year-old defender, with further add-ons to come, and a medical now on the agenda. Tottenham have also secured a sell-on clause, ensuring they stay financially tied to Phillips’s future progress at the Riverside Stadium.
