Jamal Musiala Suffers Second Health Scare in Four Days

Jamal Musiala suffered a second scare in four days on Tuesday night, cutting short his appearance in Bayern Munich’s 4-2 friendly win over Heidenheim after feeling unwell again.

The 21-year-old came on around the hour mark, but within four minutes he was on the turf, clearly in distress. Players from both sides quickly formed a circle around him as medics rushed on. The atmosphere shifted in an instant: a routine pre-season run-out suddenly felt very serious.

After treatment on the pitch, Musiala was able to walk off under his own power, a small but important relief for Bayern and Germany fans watching on. The concern, though, is no longer about a one-off incident.

Second incident in four days

This was not the first time in recent days that Musiala had needed medical attention. On Saturday, in the closing stages of the friendly against RB Leipzig, he again felt unwell shortly after coming on. He sat down on the pitch and required help from several emergency responders.

Team-mates were visibly worried then as well, with Ismael Saibari among those showing immediate concern. After a tense few moments, Musiala eventually left the field without assistance, easing fears inside the stadium and within the Bayern camp.

Sporting director Max Eberl tried to calm the situation after the Leipzig match, offering a brief update while stressing the limits of what the club could say.

“He is doing well now. And that is the most important thing. Beyond that, we cannot say too much about it yet,” Eberl told Sport1.

Bayern wait – and worry – before Dortmund

Musiala has not yet spoken publicly about the two incidents, both coming in quick succession and both shortly after entering the pitch in friendlies.

Bayern now head into Saturday’s German Super Cup clash with Borussia Dortmund with a cloud of uncertainty hanging over one of their most important players. The result will matter, as it always does against Dortmund.

But for Bayern, the bigger question right now is simple: how quickly, and how safely, can Jamal Musiala return to feeling fully himself again?
